Description

Rare, Native Bulb-forming Perennial  produces profusions of fragrant white -to light pink flowers from March to May. Walk among them at dusk, and watch the buds open. Moths, Butterflies, Hummingbirds and Bees all visit the flowers. This sister-species of Zephyranthes atamaco (Atamasco Lily) is native to NC, SC, GA, FL AL and MS,  In the wild, almost always restricted to shell sands within 10 km of the ocean. In the Carolinas, it has only been documented from 4 counties. We propagated our plants from Native Populations that we rescued from roadside spraying in McIntosh Co., GA.

It thrives in full sun to part shade in fairly wet to fairly dry soil. Clumps grow larger every year.
