Sharing is caring!

1′-3′ Native perennial blooms from July to October attracting hummingbirds and butterflies. It is the larval host of the Texan Crescent Butterfly.
Native to moist shady areas in AL, AR, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MO, MS, NC, OK, SC, TN, TX, and VA. It is relatively rare locally (I have only seen two native populations one in Effingham Co, GA the other in Allendale Co., SC.  We propagated our plants from those two populations. We have been growing it in the nursery since 2015. It has now naturalized into the deep sands adjacent to the nursery. This makes me happy.
