Description
Native Evergreen Shrub or Small “Tree” grows up to 12′ high with 2′ long leaves and 3′ long panicles of 3″ wide flowers in June and July . Yuccas are the only larval host of the Yucca Moths which also pollinate the flowers. Birds and small mammals eat the fruit. Both flowers and fruit are edible for humans. Leaves are very fibrous and have been used to make various items.
Native to NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, MS, and LA. We propagated our plant from native populations in Beaufort Co., SC.
