Carex sp. (“Combahee River Sedge)

Description

Native Evergeen Groundcover spreads by runners to form welcome mat like patches. I found it on the slopes leading from the parking lot to the swamps of the Combahee River in either Hampton Co., SC. I never identified it but it has been growing in flats in the nursery for many years.. originally in shade. now in morning sun. Birds are eaten by seeds.
