Description
Lowgrowing evergreen groundcover is covered with golden flowers in Spring and Fall and blooms sporadically in the summer attracting bees and butterflies. Birds eat the seed. Plant in well drained soil in part shade to full shade. The species is native to AL, DC, FL, GA, KY, LA, MD, MS, NC, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, VA and WV. We propagated our plants from native populations in Jasper and Hampton Co. SC. Jasper and Hampton are the two southernmost counties in SC. Jasper Co is the southernmost county on the Atlantic Coast where this species is documented to occur. Therefore, our plants are some of the most heat-tolerant selections of this species.
