Rare Native Herbcaeaous Vine with beautifully patterned leaves grows 6′-10′ tall. yellow -orange flowers in May through July Followed by long-lasting ornate fruits.. Little information is available about this species. Dioscoarea is the only genus in the family Dioscoraceacea in the Southeastern US. Therefore, its foliage contains different chemicals which feed different insects and its flowers attract different pollinators than other species. We propagated our plants from native populations in Beaufort Co., SC. Plant in Part shade in moist soil. Plants have been used medicinally for a wide variety of usages.
