Description
3′- 12′ Southeastern Mounding Native Deciduos Shrub is covered with large racemes of white flowers in June and July. Their fertile flowers are pollinated by moths, butterflies and moths. The The leaves and sometimes flowers turn a rich wine color in Fall until Midwinter. Exfoliating bark makes the plants attractive in winter as well. Prefers part-shade and well-drained acidic soil. Native to AL , DC , FL , GA , LA , MS , NC , SC , TN. We propagated our plants from material collected in the garden of Mr. Roy Hawkins in Charleston Co., SC
