Description
Native rose which grows 5′-8′ tall produces fragrant, single, pink flowers followed by red hips which are eaten by birds. The Xerces Society considers Swamp Rose particularly important to native bees. Flowers and hips are both edible to humans. It provides excellent cover for nesting birds. It thrives average to wet soil in sun or part shade. We propagated our plants from native populations in Beaufort and Jasper Cos., SC.
