Description
Locally rare, 6′-15′ tall native perennial produces abundant white flowers in late fall which attract numerous butterflies. Seeds are eaten by songbirds. Stems exude beautiful hoar frost on cold mornings. If longest stems are cut back to the ground (until September), plants can be made to bloom at 2′-3′ tall. Cut stems Prefers average to moist circumneutral soil. Sun or part shade. Usually Deer-resistant.
