Description
Native shade tolerant grass to 3′. Attractive seed-heads are useful in dried arrangements. Larval host of at least 6 Butterflies Northern Pearly Eye, Linda’s Roadside Skipper, Common Roadside Skipper, Bronze Roadside Skipper,Bell’s Roadside Skipper, and Pepper and Salt Roadside Skipper. Seed are utilized by birds. Seeds were also a traditional food of Native Americans. Shade to Part Shade. Average to wet soils. All grasses are deer-resistant and help protect surrounding vegetation from deer-damage.
