Lowgrowing native perennial groundcover spreads by stolons (underground stems) to form compact colonies so tight that they rarely need weeding. Blue paired flowers are great nectar source for bees and butterflies. Larval host of the Buckeye Butterfly. Sun or part shade. Average to dry soil. Does well in acidic or circumneutral soil. We propagated our stock plants from a native population in Laurel Bay, Beaufort Co., SC. We were the first nursery in Coastal SC to offer Pineland Twinflower for sale. We are the only nursery in the Coastal Plain of GA and SC that propagates our plants from native populations.
