Description
I rescued these horsetails from construction for the Bluffton Parkway several years ago. This strains grows about chest-high. These native evergreen fern relatives are among the most primitive plants. Silica-rich stems were used for souring pots and medicinally for the urinary tract. Insect, disease. Highly deer resistant, plant among tastier plants to protect them from browsing. Leave in pot if you want to control spread. Prefers average to moist soils. Shade or sun.
