Description
Three species of butterfly (Gulf frittilary, Zebra Heliconia and Variegated Fritillary) lay their eggs on this native perennial vine. Bees are drawn to the fragrant followers. The fruit are delicious. Animals think so too. It prefers full sun to part shade in average to dry soil. Digging manure or compost around its roots every year or so, will make it especially vigorous. We propagated our plants from Native Populations in Beaufort Co., SC.
